Matt Damon was a super-bright schoolkid

Hollywood heartthrob was too clever for lessons

Matt Damon

Matt Damon never did his homework as a kid. Not because he was lazy, but because he found it too easy!

Like his gifted character in Good Will Hunting, Matt was a super-bright student. After getting told off for daydreaming in class, his mother told his teacher to stop giving Matt work, claiming it was a waste of his time.

‘I would come home with my workbooks and she would tell me to go outside and play – and she would take it and fill out all my homework,’ Matt tells The Telegraph magazine.

‘She was like, you know how to do this, this is boring for you, which is why you’re staring out of the window. We’ll just carry on until I can pull you from the school system and put you in a school that fits you better.’

The Bourne Supremacy actor, 36, duly won a place at Harvard University to study drama and began making films while still a student.

Brains and beauty – some people have it all…
