Shilpa: I feel sorry for my bullies

Bollywood star feels bad about backlash

Shilpa Shetty says her heart goes out to the bullies who made her time in the Big Brother house a misery.

The Bollywood star, 31, has been moved by the plight of Jade Goody and Jo O'Meara since they left the show.

And she admits that she has respect for Jade, 25.

'She is taking it seriously and I know that she has done it for her children rather than showing off to the world,' she tells the Daily Mirror. 'I know Jade that much.'

Shilpa was also moved by Jo's public breakdown on GMTV yesterday.

'Jo looks shattered,' she said. 'My heart goes out to her. I feel terrible. We did connect on some level. There is no rancour and hate is such a horrible word.

'I feel sorry for what she and Jade are going through.'

Shilpa's profile has been raised dramatically by her dignified handling of events within the house. She's even been invited to meet Tony Blair and the Queen.

'It's a huge honour,' she says. 'I am humbled.'
