Clare Buckfield's heart belongs to Dec

Her ex-boyfriend claims she's still in love with the TV presenter

Although Dancing On Ice contestant Clare Buckfield split with Declan Donnelly three years ago – after he cheated on her with a lap dancer – a friend says she’s still in love with him.

Heating engineer Dan Rawlings, 26, dated the 30-year-old actress but says, ‘Her heart was still with Dec.

‘I was a shoulder to cry on and night after night Clare would sit up until the early hours talking about him.’

The actress met the Geordie star, now 31, when he and Ant were starring in Byker Grove. They set up home together but after 11 years together, says Dec, became more like brother and sister.

‘I think she secretly believes she and Dec will get back together one day,’ Dan tells The People, 'he’s the only person Clare will ever properly love.’
