Jamie Oliver: Nobody wants to work for me

Chef is struggling to find staff for his new pub

Jamie Oliver

Jamie Oliver's latest restaurant project has hit the skids, because no one wants to work for him.

The 31-year-old chef has spent almost £1 million on a new gastro-pub, but building work for the Cock End at Beazley End, Essex is so far behind, it may not get off the ground for some time.

Even if it does get back on track, the project may fall on its ears, as he has no staff.

'We're running out of time to get the right staff,' he tells The Radio Times. 'We thought people would be queuing up to work here, but they ain't. What we're trying to do could be inspiring...or we could fall flat on our arses.'

His project will be featured on a four-part Channel 4 show Jamie's Chef, starting on 31 January at 9pm.
