Noel Gallagher is meerkats fan

Oasis star smitten with critters

Who'd have thought that grumpy Noel Gallagher would be won over by a small furry animal?

The Oasis hardman, 39 - who used to be renowned for his alcohol-fuelled rampages rather than his love of nature - has admitted that he likes nothing more than settling down with his five-year-old daughter Anais and tuning into Meerkat Manor.

The series, which is narrated by Love Actually star Bill Nighy, follows a group of the 12in tall animals living in southern Africa's Kalahari Desert.

Originally it was only shown on the Discovery Channel, but it's also just been launched on BBC2.

Let's hope the Met Bar has braced itself for a drop in profits.
