Louise Redknapp: I love being a mum

Star reckons motherhood is more important than her career

She's been a famous pop star, has a gorgeous ex-footballer husband, and now a glittering TV and publishing career. But Louise Redknapp says what she loves most of all is being a mum.

The ex-Eternal star, 32, who's mum to Charlie, two, says she shocked herself with how she took to motherhood.

'I wasn't one of those girls who had to have the white picket fence and the baby,' she says. 'I really wanted this baby, but I was very nervous.

'I remember thinking: "I'm living an amazing and glamorous life - what's going to change?" But everything changes and nothing matters apart from this little person.'

Louise - who had problems conceiving before getting pregnant with Charlie - also reckons that getting back into shape after she gave birth played second fiddle to enjoying the whole experience.

'The last thing on my mind was eating salad,' she tells Sunday Express magazine. 'I'd just had a baby and I'd waited four years for him, so the most important thing in my life wasn't counting calories, I just got on with it.'
