Wendi Peters quits the Street

Cilla says goodbye to Corrie

Corrie star Wendi Peters is leaving The Street after four years playing trashy Cilla Battersby-Brown.

And show chiefs are already plotting the dramatic storylines for her autumn exit which could even see her killed off.

'I feel very privileged to have been given the fantastic character of Cilla and I shall really miss her,' 38-year-old Wendi reveals.

'I'm looking forward to spending a bit more time with my family and working on other projects.'

Corrie producer Steve Frost says: 'We totally understand her reasons for wanting to leave and are grateful that she has given us so much notice - this means that we can spend time writing an exit storyline that will do justice to her and the character of Cilla.'

Let's hope she frys to death on her tanning bed or something equally chav-tastic.
