She expected her fiancé to be a little weird
Monday, 22 January 2007
English actress Rachel Weisz admits that before she met fiancé Darren Aronovsky, she thought he was going to be a bit strange.
She first encountered the American cult film-maker – who directed dark movies Requiem For A Dream and Pi – backstage at London's Almeida Theatre in 2001.
‘He seemed very... normal,’ she tells the Telegraph Magazine. ‘I’d seen his films, so that was a shock! He must have some funny stuff going on in his head.
‘I thought I was going to meet someone who was very intense and weird. But he seemed very unneurotic. Very down-to-earth and really a fun person.’
When still searching for Mr Right, Rachel dated Kate Winslet’s now husband Sam Mendes and Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morissey, but something told her Darren was 'the one'.
The 35-year-old star of The Constant Gardener now lives in the Big Apple with Darren, 37, and their eight-month-old son Henry.
