Dale Winton loses voice

Star postpones shows due to laryngitis

Dale Winton had to pull out of recording seven installments of ITV's Supermarket Sweep after losing his voice.

The 51-year-old host was forced to miss filming the revamped show when he was struck down with laryngitis.

A spokeswoman for ITV says: 'Dale was quite poorly over the weekend and had to postpone some shows because he lost his voice. But he's now rested for a couple of days and is feeling much better.

Dale was last night said to be planning for a quick return to filming.

Supermarket Sweep, axed in 2001, will have a teatime slot to rival Channel 4's Paul O'Grady.
