Russell Brand: Boy or girl?

Carol Vorderman left confused by androgynous TV host

She may be a whiz at sums, but when it comes to figuring out Russell Brand it seems that Carol Vorderman is just as confused as the rest of us.

Speaking out on yesterday's Countdown show, she admitted she found TV host Russell perplexing and not as nearly as amusing as showbiz veteran Ken Dodd.

'Ken is one of the funniest men ever, yet in London media circles he's not very cool, is he?,' she mused.

'So what do you have? A swearing, strange person, not a hermaphrodite, but one of those you're not quite sure what he is - Russell Brand.

'I don't know if he's trying to be a boy or a girl.'

She's got a fair point – but despite Russell's weirdness, we'd still take him over buck-toothed Ken.
