The Beckhams go to Hollywood

David has confirmed he is leaving Real Madrid for LA side

David Beckham confirmed today he will leave Real Madrid and head to the States.

The 31-year-old former England captain will quit the Spanish club in the summer and sign for Los Angeles Galaxy for a staggering £128m.

The move should please his wife Victoria, who is keen to establish herself in the US fashion industry. Over the past couple of months she has been spotted house-hunting in LA in the exclusive districts of Beverly Hills and Mulholland Drive.

In a statement today, Becks said: 'After discussing several options with my family and advisers to either stay here at Madrid or join other major British and European clubs, I have decided to join the Los Angeles Galaxy and play from August this year.

'I have enjoyed my time in Spain enormously and I am extremely grateful to the club for giving me the opportunity to play for such a great team and their amazing fans.'
