JK Rowling has revealed the title of the final Harry Potter book will be Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.
Fans of the schoolboy wizard series discovered the title of the highly anticipated seventh book after finding and solving a hidden puzzle – involved a cryptic visual puzzle and a game of hangman – posted on her website, jkrowling.com.
The 41-year-old multi-millionaire has not yet finished the manuscript, which will take about six months to edit, so the earliest publication date is likely to be in the summer.
The Harry Potter books – which have been translated into 63 languages - have sold more than 300 million copies worldwide.
'I am now writing scenes I have planned for a dozen years,' says JK. 'I feel alternately elated and overwrought. I both want, and don’t want, to finish this book. But don’t worry - I will.'
Five years ago, the author married Neil Murray, an anaesthetist, in a private ceremony at her home in Aberfeldy. JK has a daughter Jessica, 13, from her first marriage and the couple now have two children, three-year-old David and Mackenzie, one.
