Scarlett Johansson is desperate to play Evita.
The 22-year-old actress is fascinated by Evita - real name Eva Peron, the wife of former Argentinean dictator Juan Peron - but fears she could never live up to Madonna's big screen portrayal.
Scarlett says: 'I became fascinated with Evita as a teenager. I would love to play that role, but Madonna was awesome.'
Madonna won the 1997 Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her portrayal of Evita in the movie version of the musical.
Evita is widely considered to be one of Argentina's most influential women. In 1952, she was given the official title of Spiritual Leader of the Nation.
