Actress insists she'll steer clear of fur from now on
Sunday, 24 December 2006
Christina Ricci has given animals worldwide the best Christmas present possible - and vowed never to wear fur in the future.
And it's Santa's sleigh-pullers who can breathe the biggest sigh of relief. PETA voted Christina one of the worst-dressed celebs of 2006 after she appeared on the cover of W magazine dressed in reindeer fur.
But the 26-year-old star's since seen the error of her ways and sent the animal rights group a letter of apology.
She says: 'After being named on the PETA worst dressed list for wearing fur, I have been deluged with angry and disappointed fans.
'I never meant to hurt or anger anyone with my insensitivity. For what it is worth I have received the message loud and clear and will not be wearing fur in the future. I apologise for my offensive actions.'
And, in return, PETA have removed her from the list and sent her a basket of cruelty-free goodies to thank her for compassionate decision.
Glad you came to your senses, Christina.
