Paul O'Grady will be grandfather on Christmas Day

Chat show host will be 'glamorous grandad'

Paul O'Grady is set to become a grandad on Christmas Day.

The Channel 4 chat show host, 51, announced the news to his viewers on yesterday's programme.

And he later said: 'I'm going to be a glamorous grandad. I was a bit scared about the whole idea because I thought it would make me feel a bit old but I'm over the moon.'

The star was reluctant to share his news any earlier because his daughter Sharyn, 31, suffered a miscarriage last year.

'I thought I'd keep it a secret until the last minute,' he tells the Daily Mirror. 'It's been murder, because you know what I'm like at keeping secrets. I'm superstitious and I thought if I said anything it could go wrong.'
