Matt Lucas to play Friar Tuck
Little Britain star Matt Lucas is being lined up to play Friar Tuck in the new series of Robin Hood.
The comic, 32, has been approached by BBC bosses about appearing in the Saturday night show and it's thought he is interested in getting involved.
Friar Tuck's character was left out of the first series because show chiefs said he didn't fit into their version of the Sherwood Forest legend.
But it seems they've has a change of heart.
BBC1 controller Peter Fincham tells The Daily Mirror: 'I'd be delighted if he agreed to play Friar Tuck. I have already mentioned it to him and he said he'd love to do it. The series wants to evolve. He is a great character.'
The show will return next year.
