Chris Tarrant: Playing away is just something boys do

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host talks about his infidelity

Chris Tarrant has said he wasn't the first and he won't be the last man to play away from home.

The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire star, 60, moved out of his family home earlier this year after it was revealed that he'd been cheating on his wife Ingrid, 52.

But in a TV interview with Gloria Hunniford, which will be screened on the Biography Channel this Saturday at 7pm, he says he was just acting like a 'naughty boy'.

'I hate to break this to you but I'm not the first and I won't be the last,' he says. 'I mean, I didn't break the law. Yes, I was a bad boy and yes I went out with another woman. But what is this hysteria?

'Of course I ask myself: "What was I doing?" I was playing away, you know, boys do. There will be reasons on both sides why I felt the need to do that. I couldn't even analyse them myself yet.

'Why did I risk everything? I don't know. It's a man thing.'
