Connie Fisher's success leads to TV Joseph hunt

Success of The Sound Of Music starts new trend

Call centre worker Connie Fisher triumphed as Maria on the West End stage this week.

The Sound Of Music, which opened to rave reviews, has had massive bookings on the back of the BBC show How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, which made 23-year-old Connie a star.

Now Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber is looking for undiscovered talent to bring the same lustre to Joseph And The Technicolour Dreamcoat.

'I think we could have a lot of fun,' he says about his future plans.

'There's Joseph himself, a girl narrator, and of course there's huge fun in finding an Elvis, as well as finding the best children's choir and the brothers.'

The search for the next Joseph will kick off next year, followed by the search for a Danny Zuko for Grease in 2008.
