Top Gear presenter gets behind the wheel for first time since crash

Richard Hammond has been back behind the wheel for the first time since his horror crash and says: 'I will remember this day for the rest of my life.'

The Top Gear presenter took his wife Mindy for a spin in his Morgan sports car at the weekend after doctors gave him the go-ahead to drive again - less than two months after he suffered serious brain injury in a 288mph jet car crash.

After the unevental drive, the 36-year-old told the Daily Mirror: 'As I got back in the driving seat, it felt like I was back where I belonged.

'I have really missed driving and the freedom that comes with it. I didn't realise how much until today. Mindy has been my driver for the last few weeks and now I'm looking forward to taking her out for a drive and a nice lunch this week.'
