Frank Bruno: I'm so sorry

The ex-boxer apologises for his behaviour

Frank Bruno

Ex-boxer Frank Bruno, 44, has responded to allegations in The Sun that he took cocaine last weekend at his home in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.

His agent David Davies says: 'Frank has said that he is very sorry that this has happened.

'He has apologised to his family, he would also like to apologise to his friends and fans. This will not happen again.'

In his autobiography Fighting Back, published last year, Frank admitted he first experimented with the Class A drug in Las Vegas in 2000.

He vowed that he wouldn't touch it again because he believed it had affected his mental health.

Dad-of-four Frank was sectioned under the Mental Health Act in 2003 and diagnosed as suffering from bipolar disorder.

'It was like a black hole with no ending,' he has said.

Frank become WBC world heavyweight champion in 1995 but lost his title to Mike Tyson and retired the following year.
