Darren Day is broke

Love-rat declared bankrupt

Darren Day has been declared bankrupt.

The stage star, 38, once earnt more than £1million a year but now he's been forced to quit his plush home in Hampstead, London.

His former fiancée Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw has also had to sell their £800,000 home in Hertfordshire to keep the bailiffs at bay. Darren's half of the profit will go to creditors.

He's now sharing a rented semi in South Yorkshire with his latest girlfriend Stephanie Dooley, 27, who plays Emmerdale's Zara Baynard. Stephanie became a new mum last week.

Barnsley County Court confirmed Darren was made bankrupt on 5 October. Last night he said: 'It's my life, I don't want to talk about it.'
