The BBC is hoping to screen the crash that almost killed TV presenter Richard Hammond.
It will be down to the Top Gear presenter to decide if the corporation can air the footage of the 300mph accident - either on Top Gear or in a special documentary.
But the Daily Mirror revealed this morning that the BBC wants to show the film, as long as Richard, who is also a Mirror columnist, agrees.
The plan is that Richard will talk viewers through the sequence of events in a one-off special, but it is unlikely to show him being treated by paramedics after the crash.
Richard, 36, is still recovering from the injuries he sustained when the jet-powered dragster he was driving overturned at an airfield near York.
A BBC spokeswoman says: 'It is only two weeks ago that Richard was fighting for his life. The last thing on our minds right now is making a programme about the accident. Our focus is very much on his recovery.'
