Britney Spears has been granted a High Court injunction preventing the British press from printing allegations about her stint in rehab.

The order is aimed at stopping further disclosures invading her privacy and is directed at 'sources' who have leaked details about her stay at a US clinic.

The 25-year-old's legal representatives are also applying for an further court order which requires press to disclose the sources of their stories detailing her one-month programme at the Promises clinic in Malibu.

In an official statement, her legal representative said: 'This injunction will now be served on the UK media so as to assist them in not making the mistake of carrying such further disclosures if approached by this person or his/her agent.

'Ms Spears reserves the right and intends to challenge false allegations which have already been published about her time in rehabilitation and which are the subject of ongoing legal complaint.'
