Michael J Fox was accused of exaggerating the symptoms of his Parkinson's disease by a US radio host this week.
Fans of the Back To The Future star were left in uproar after Rush Limbaugh told listeners he believed Fox was 'acting' during his appearance on a commercial backing stem cell research.
The multi-millionaire DJ said: "He is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act.
'This is really shameless of Michael J Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting.
Mr Limbaugh gave a half-hearted apology after listeners voiced their disgust.
'All right then, I stand corrected,' announced. 'So I will hugely admit that I was wrong, and I will apologise to Michael J Fox.'
Michael, 45, was diagnosed in 1991 with the degenerative disorder which affects muscle control, speech and movement.
Since his diagnosis the Hollywood star has been a keen stem-cell research campaigner.
