Noel Edmonds boasts of naked high-speed ride

Deal Or No Deal host claims he nearly crashed as he drove at 186mph

TV presenter Noel Edmonds has boasted of driving at 186mph in a naked late night car ride.

The 57-year-old nearly crashed his super powerful Ford GT40 into a roundabout during his moment of madness 20 years ago.

His comments have led to a string of complaints from safety campaigners who think the star is sending out a bad message.

In an interview with Loaded magazine Noel says: 'It was 4.30am on the Tring bypass in a Ford GT40. I thought I'd take it out for a breather, the poor thing was stuck in its stable and needed exercise.

'I remember arriving at the roundabout horrendously fast, I almost didn't stop. Can I be prosecuted for that now?'

RAC spokesman Jon Day said: 'Driving at excessive speed like that mentioned by Noel Edmonds endangers the life of the driver, passengers and others on the road.'

Noel's agent Mark Borkowski said: 'This happened 20 years ago when he woke up early one morning, stark naked and wanted to drive. But Noel accepts the thing about speed and fast cars is that it should be done in the appropriate places and in experienced hands.'
