Actor returns to Coronation Street after battling drug addiction

Actor Craig Charles will return to Coronation Street now he's beaten his crack cocaine addiction.

The 42-year-old, who plays cabbie Lloyd Mullaney in the soap, was suspended three months ago when images of him smoking the drug appeared in a national newspaper.

Corrie bosses suspended him from work and dad-of-three – who admitted in court that he had a drugs problem – checked himself into rehab.

But recent pictures have shown the actor, who shot to fame in cult TV show Red Dwarf, looking healthy and trim.

A source close to the show told the Daily Mirror Craig had attended a secret meeting where show chiefs said he could return.

It is thought he will be back working on the street by the New Year.
