Madonna and Guy to adopt twins?

Star couple will visit African orphanage

Madonna and Guy Ritchie may adopt twins from an African orphanage.

The pop singer, 48, and her director husband, 38, are due to fly to Malawi next month to find a child, and may even adopt siblings or twins.

A source close to the couple said: 'Originally Madonna and Guy only planned to adopt one child. but when they were told that this might mean breaking up a family unit, they said they would take sublings or twins if that was the right thing to do.'

In plans announced in an interview with Time magazine last month, Madonna said she was raising $3 million to fund programs mostly to help orphans in Malawi.

Malawi has a population of 13 million, an estimated 1 million of them children who have lost at least one parent.

A spokesman for the singer said: 'Madonna will go to Africa in the next six to eight weeks for her charity.'
