James Alexandrou admits he's dating co-star Kara Tointon

James and Kara are officially an item

EastEnders actor James Alexandrou has finally admitted he's dating co-star Kara Tointon.

James, 21, has starred in the soap as Martin Fowler since 1996 and, until now, has refused to comment on rumours he's dating the actress who plays Dawn Swan.

Pictures of the pair looking cosy at the V Festival last month added fuel to the fire, but still the couple refused to say anything.

In an interview with the Sunday Mirror, James finally came clean.

He said: 'Kara and I are very much together. Yes, we are dating and seeing how things develop between us. It's early days, but I've been seeing Kara for a couple of months now. And we are really enjoying each other's company.'

James, who's decided to quit the soap and will leave in March, added: 'I'm not the kind of celebrity who flaunts my relationships. As far as I'm concerned it's just between me and Kara.'
