Girls Aloud singer set to be Desperate Housewives bride

Jesse Metcalfe has proposed to his girlfriend Nadine Coyle.

The Desperate Housewives hunk, 27, reportedly popped the question to his Girls Aloud love, 21, before she flew back from his Los Angeles home to prepare for her band’s tour this month.

A pal of the couple said last night: ‘They’ve only known each other for five months but Jesse just felt he had to ask her to marry him.

‘Nadine is over the moon. But there’s no ring yet and she has told very few people.’

Nadine and Jesse were spotted last month looking at engagement rings in Harrods. And she recently met Jesse Metcalfe's parents.

'It went well,' says Jesse. 'I think they really hit it off.'

Nadine’s bandmate Cheryl Tweedy recently tied the knot with footy star Ashley Cole, at Hertfordshire’s Wrotham Park.

Unlike Cheryl, who sold her pictures to a publishing house, Nadine says: ‘I can’t see myself allowing a magazine to take over the whole day. I have no problem with people who do that, but it isn’t for me.’
