Mark Ronson: Amy Winehouse is witty and strong

DJ pal glad troubled star's talent is recognised

Mark Ronson adores Amy Winehouse and wants people to appreciate her uniqueness.

The 24-year-old troubled star's stint in rehab at London's Capio Nightingale Hospital in January was tough but Mark reckons she's pulled through.

'She's been through a hellish time and I'm glad to have been there for her and to have stood next to her on stage at the Brits,' he tells Live. 'She's a great girl.'

Mark, 32, believes Amy's album Back To Black deserves to be the massive hit that it is.

'People love her because, despite all the rubbish that's written about her, they know she's famous because she's talented, not because of the horror stories,' he says.

'She's one of my favourite people. She's witty, strong and she's got that old/new thing going on, like me.'
