Madonna and Guy to adopt a child?

Couple said to be starting search for a child after world tour

Madonna and film-maker husband Guy Ritchie are planning to adopt a baby.

According to inside sources, the couple will begin looking for a child to adopt in October, once the Queen of Pop finishes her Confessions world tour.

Madonna, who already has two children, Lourdes, nine, and Rocco, five - wants more kids so the 47-year-old singer and Ritchie, 37, have approached adoption agencies in both the US and the UK.

Earlier this week, Guy’s dad, John Ritchie said: ‘I love my grandchildren, and of course nothing would make me happier than if they do adopt. I'm sure both Rocco and Lourdes would love it as they are so close and another sibling would be super.’

Madonna's publicist told Now: 'I am not aware of any plans for Madonna and Guy to personally adopt a child. Madonna is actually adopting an entire village of children in Malawi, Africa. She is actively involved in the construction of a school and home for children in this country which is in desperate need of help to house and educate children whose parents have died of AIDS. 

'That is where she is focusing her energy at the moment.'
