John Leslie to be a dad

The former TV presenter is to become a father for the first time at 41

Marketing assistant Rachel Bentley is expecting John Leslie's child in two weeks' time but the pair are no longer dating.

In fact, 23-year-old Rachel says she has not heard from him since February when she announced she was pregnant with his baby.

The pair got together after meeting at a party in January 2005. John, who lost his £250,000 a year job on ITV's This Morning after sex and drug claims, seemed a gentle giant. 'But behind closed he could be very bossy,' Rachel told the Daily Mail.

When she informed him he was to be a father, he seemed far from delighted. 'Let's just say he didn't go out and buy me a bunch of flowers,' she says.

John Leslie started his TV career on the children's show Blue Peter and in 2001 joined Fern Britton as a regular host of This Morning. In June 2003 he was charged with two counts of indecent assault but the charges were later dropped.
