Colin Farrell: 'I’m off booze for my son'

The actor has quit drinking since rehab

Former Hollywood hellraiser Colin Farrell has revealed he checked into a rehab clinic for exhaustion and addiction to painkillers because he wants to be sober to watch his baby son grow up.

The 30-year-old star has been speaking for the first time about how he decided to get clean seven months ago and hasn't touched a drop of alcohol since.

He declares he has a new-found appreciation for his life, brought about by his love for his two-year-old son James.

Colin says: 'I wasn't suicidal but I never had much of a will to live for a long time.Now I want to watch my son grow up, be his friend and his father, and hang around with him. So he's the greatest priority in my life.'

James is Colin's son by ex-girlfriend Kim Bordenave.
