The reality TV star became a mum - last summer!
Wednesday, 9 January 2008
Sinitta’s dearest wish to become a mum has come true, but she kept the news secret for months.
After years of heartbreak, miscarriages and rounds of unsuccessful IVF, Sinitta, 41, and her husband Andy Willner, 46, have adopted a boy and a girl.
A source close to Sinitta reveals: ‘She’s had the children since last summer, but she wanted to keep them out of the media glare and spend some quality time with them.
'She’s just moved into a new house, so she’s been working like crazy. All of this is new to her and she’s taking one step at a time.’
Speaking about her children for the first time, Sinitta says: ‘They’re the best presents we could’ve had.’
The reality TV star and her businessman husband had been visiting the two mixed-race babies daily for months to get to know them well. They were overjoyed when they were finally able to welcome the two-year-old girl and her one-year-old brother into their London home for good.
Sinitta’s long-time friend and ex-boyfriend Simon Cowell, 48, is the children’s godfather.
‘They love Simon,’ says our source. ‘He’s visited them at the new house and he’s great with them.’
After experiencing several setbacks in their dream to become parents, Sinitta and Andy started the adoption process two years ago.
‘As soon as it began, I knew it was right,’ says Sinitta. ‘I went from being desperate to have a child to being desperate to give a kid a mum.’
Eventually, the couple were told about a girl who’d been in care from a very early age and the adoption process began. Sinitta says: ‘It seemed only right to adopt her younger brother, too. Now we feel that we’re complete as a family.’
