Liv Tyler: Becoming a mum has turned my life around

Actress admits she was insecure before motherhood

You'd think gracing countless magazine covers and fronting beauty campaigns would boost anyone's ego.

Yet Hollywood hottie Liv Tyler says teenage shyness and, more recently, post-baby weight battles sent her confidence crashing.

'I was very insecure for a long time,' she admits. 'I worried about my height, my weight, my acting. I always felt awkward about being tall and gangly. That makes you shy and, when you're a teenager, all you want to do is fit in.'

Gaining 2st after giving birth to son Milo in December 2004 also left her dreading being spotted 'looking fat in a bikini'.

But her role as a mum has helped the 29-year-old put those anxieties to bed.

'I feel secure now. The confidence that comes with taking care of my man and our child has taught me not to worry any more.'
