Singer must appear in person in Bergen
Friday, 28 December 2007
If Amy Winehouse wants to appeal against her £350 fine for marijuana possession in Norway, she must return there in person.
The troubled singer, 24, was arrested at The Radisson hotel in Bergen in October - along with husband Blake Fielder-Civil and a 2nd man.
She claims there was a misunderstanding about documents signed and that the drug was not hers.
Amy says she did not realise that paying the fine was the same as an admission of guilt and now wants to sort things out.
The Norwegian police insist that she had English translators and knew what she was doing.
'I can confirm that she must appear in court,' a Bergen police spokeswoman told the Associated Press. 'If one appeals a conviction, it's the rule that one has to appear in person, so this is not surprising.'
Amy's appeal is scheduled for 29 February.
