Yoko Ono has spoken out to support Heather Mills after her bitter divorce from Sir Paul McCartney.
John Lennon’s widow Yoko reckons the public has always given the wives of The Beatles a hard time.
‘It's not very easy for a woman to be associated with The Beatles,’ she tells Sky News. ‘I think all the wives did suffer, but suffered quietly and endured.’
But Yoko, 75, says she doesn't blame Sir Paul, 65, for the backlash Heather has received.
‘I'm very sorry for him to have had to go through that,’ she says.
Heather, 40, was awarded £24.3m in her divorce settlement.
John Lennon was murdered by crazed fan Mark Chapman in New York in 1980.
