Cheryl Cole said she stopped husband Ashley's football dreams from coming true – because she wanted to put her first.
The Girls Aloud star says she banned him from moving to Real Madrid last year because she didn't want to sacrifice her pop career.
‘I wasn’t prepare to give up everything I had worked so hard for, just so Ashley could realise his dream,’ she tells GQ magazine.
‘I stopped him living his dream playing out there. It made things difficult.’
Instead Ashley, 26, accepted a £20 million deal to move to Chelsea and was branded a traitor by Arsenal fans.
‘I almost begged Ashley to sign for Chelsea,’ Cheryl admits.
‘I didn’t realise the extent [of hurt] it would cause between the two of us, and to Arsenal fans.’
But despite the tension in their marriage, the 24-year-old says it hasn't affected their love life.
'I'm a maid in the bedroom,' she says. 'I never get any complaints!'
