Reality shows battle it out to win the ratings war

BBC bosses have extended talent show Any Dream Will Do by a week so that the final will be aired the same night as that of ITV's Grease Is The Word.
Any Dream Will Do, which is searching for a lead to star in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, was meant to end on 2 June, but will now run until the following Saturday.
Rival production Grease Is The Word is searching for a new Sandy and Danny to star in a West End production of Grease.
Simon Cowell, whose company Syco makes the ITV show with Talkback Thames, has revealed it's not going as well as he'd hoped.
'It has been slaughtered by the critics and rightly so. It is far too similar to our other formats,' he told Broadcast magazine.
