Josie, John James' mum is watching you on Big Brother

Big Brother contestant comes out with some interesting observations

Josie Gibson isn't exactly shy

Josie Gibson doesn't realise that John James' mum is watching Big Brother avidly every day.

She may be in Melbourne, but proud Helena is glued to the computer screen to see what her boy is up to.

To begin with, she thoroughly approved of Josie and reckoned she was 'just the kind of woman he needs'.

'I think to myself: "Oh, John James, for God's sake if you like the girl, do something about it!"' she said.

But that was probably before Josie declared that the gruel in the Big Brother Dickens task tasted of 'spunk' and that when she dropped food down her outfit in the touchy-feely feast, it looked like 'jissum'.

Not the best way to endear yourself to the mother of the man you adore, surely.

Still, John James obviously admires her, um, spunk.
