The X Factor: The Fro must go

Jamie Archer loses out to Lloyd Daniels as yet again the X Factor goes to Deadlock...

Jamie Archer | Now magazine | Celebrity gossip
Jamie Archer leaves the X Factor. Boo.

The Fro is out. I am a little sad as I did really like Jamie Archer, but I can't say I'm surprised.

I think Lloyd is the weaker singer and the fact he's been in the bottom two twice says a lot.

However, I don't think Jamie ever quite lived up to his first audition in the live shows [although he rocked at the Judges Houses]. He is a very good singer and deserved to be there as long as he was and I genuinely hope he does well afterwards.

So the acts this week, let's see...

Lloyd I thought made an improvement, but I still don't think he has what it takes. Surely he'll be gone next week?

Stacey was really, really good. Loved the Leona Lewis style dress and set up. Good on Dannii for making a point about making it all about the singer.

As you all know, I love Olly, but this week I wasn't too sure. As the judges might say, it wasn't his best performance.

I still think he's got the X Factor and is a bit of an all rounder. Also I spoke to his brother Ben this week, who is a very lovely bloke, so he gets my vote. Biased? Yes. All other family member are welcome to contact me if they think they can change my mind about their act too. I'm all about equal opportunities.

I don't know what to say about Joe. He's a great singer, but I just think it may be another Leon Jackson situation. Saying that does feel a little like shooting a puppy though.

Danyl pulled it back again this week. The hair is really working for him and he's got a great voice. I'd like to see more of his genuine personality to be able to make a real decision about him. I think next week he does need to dance. I'd forgotten he was a dance teacher, so come on then throw down some moves!

Finally the living nightmare that is Jedward. Now, I'm on Louis Walsh's side about always following the rules. Bearing this in mind, isn't it a bit cheeky to say that Jedward are singing Under Pressure, when they're actually doing Ice, Ice, Baby.

Louis Walsh has also surprised me this year with his songs for the twins. Normally he's not necessarily the best at song choices and despite my intense dislike of the twins he has been on the ball with his choices. However for the sixth week running - they can't sing, they can't dance and I would now like to add that they can't even rap in time.

I think it's insulting to Ant and Dec to say that they're waiting in the wings to be the new them. Cheeky girls? Yes.

Maybe I should give up disliking them and be turned around by all the people in the office or on Facebook who like them, but I won't. My own set of rules won't allow it.

I thought the group song this week was quite good, but I'm really not fussed about the single. Buy it, obviously, it's for a good cause, but that doesn't mean you actually have to play it. Nice to see all the old contestants back though, especially Miss Frank. Go Graziella!

Dannii vs Cheryl. Dannii lost points for hair this week. However, the dress won me around. Cheryl has upped her game too in the fashion stakes [although someone did tell me she has three stylists and Dannii doesn't even have one!] This week I think I'm going to have to declare it: A draw [with a slight nod to Team Minogue]

PS: Note to Calvin Harris, loving your work, but Jarvis Cocker still did it better.
