Laura gets the boot from The X Factor while Rachel and Daniel somehow stay out of the bottom two...
Sunday, 9 November 2008
What the hell is going on at The X Factor? Every week the rubbish singers survive, while the ones that can carry a tune get sent home. At this rate I may have to stop ranting about it and actually start voting despite the fact that, knowing my luck, my vote may not be counted, but will still be charged.
Anyway on to the farce that was Saturday night’s show. The fact that Daniel wasn’t in the final two is a travesty. I will admit he did sing the song well, but was by far one of the worst two of the bunch . He looks like a cab driver who accidentally took a wrong turn and ended up on stage. I even have to give Louis credit for pointing out that ‘it suited his limited vocal range’. Spot on.
What annoys me more though is the fact that Rachel was saved from the bottom two. Most of her performance was flat and uninspiring. She clearly has a serious attitude problem after dumping Dannii [I don’t care what Dannii says, picking your own songs, outfit etc. on your own means you’ve stuck two fingers up to your mentor really now doesn’t it?]. I’m not going to get into what was printed in the paper about her because I don’t have to – her performance alone means she shouldn’t be in the competition, no matter how many old ladies she 'allegedly' mugged in her past.
It’s ridiculous that Laura has gone as she was by far one of the best singers. I get that Ruth sang very well, but for me she just doesn’t have the X Factor and Laura did. Simon did have a point that she needed to go back to the quirky style she had in the auditions, but that could easily have been achieved if she’d just had the chance. I thought Eoghan was great again – which has nothing to do with the fact that I have £20 on him at the bookies. JLS were looking better than ever and Alexandra put in another good performance.
Please people, don’t vote for the sob story or because somebody cries and feels sorry for themselves. Vote because they can sing and could be a star. Think Leona Lewis not Steve Brookstein. Thank you m’lud, I rest my case.

YES WE CAN
Laura should never have been voted off the show. As usual I think Louis was being bitchy and voted against her because of the remarks Cheryl made about him trying to turn JLS into Westlife. It would have been interesting to see whether Laura or Ruth polled the lowest viewers votes. Keep going Laura you have a wonderful voice.
I loved to watch the X Factor until 2 weeks ago when I thought that the show was very unfair. How is it that a good singer like Laura can be voted off when others who can't sing remain on the show. Please X Factor, get real, this is a talent quest after all.
The majority audiance must be the over fiftys and kids, hence the outcome. The themes are not helping,a young hip audiance is loosing intrest fast.I dont know if I will be watching this saterday.
Louis said of Ruth " That was more like Mariah Scarey Than Mariah Carey " Best thing he said all night, then proceeds to send home Laura. I would buy Laura's music. Ruth's ? No way. Get Laura back where she belongs On our screens!!!!
