The Tigers massacre the Sharks in the nail-biting Shipwrecked finale...
Sunday, 20 July 2008
Justice has been served. Tigers are the winners of Shipwrecked and I couldn’t be happier. I was literally on the edge of my seat at the final, which I’m aware is really rather sad, but I was so scared the Sharks were going to win I couldn’t stand it.
I don’t know why I was worried though, the Tigers rightfully won by a landslide. It was a massacre. The only one Sharks managed to bag was whining boy Joseph. Even Shark original James plumped for Tigers.
I felt genuine joy when the Tigers won and the fact that all the Hawks chose them spoke volumes.
I don’t usually like to see people cry on TV, but considering the cockyness the Sharks had displayed throughout, I strangely enough didn’t have much sympathy. It reminded me that the only one I didn’t like on Tigers at the beginning [Susan] had actually grown on me by the end, while there were still four members of Sharks [Lauren, Danny, Adam and Tom] that I still hated as much as ever.
What I also didn’t understand was why they genuinely believed that they deserved to win. How arrogant is that? No one deserved to win, all they did was live on a rather beautiful island for three months, not exactly hell on earth.
Anyway, if you really want to look at it like that, you could say that the Tigers actually deserved to win because they formed a tighter more inclusive group than the Sharks and clearly hadn’t gone on the show just because Big Brother and/or The X Factor had turned them down before.
