Not since talent vacuum Peaches Geldof appeared on Big Brother Celebrity Hijack have I wanted to reach into my TV and give someone on a screen a good slap. However, watching The Hills on T4 I seriously had to restrain myself from doing my TV harm.
The show, as far as I can make out, is about several spoilt, self-obsessed, rich bitches that go to fashion college in LA. I didn't watch the original series 'Laguna Beach', but as far as I can tell the The Hills is like life after The O.C, but for real.
One girl Heidi is particularly annoying. Although none one of them want to work hard to get their dream jobs and annoyingly it seems to pay off.
Lauren has got an internship at Teen Vogue and as far as I can tell she got that because she was pretty and went to fashion college, not for any actual journalistic talent.
During her first week Teen Vogue had a big party and all she had to do was make sure no one sat in the VIP area. Easy yes? Apparently not for Lauren who then let her friends not only crash the party, but have a very public argument and then sit in the VIP area.
I'd like to think if someone doing work experience at Now magazine messed up a simple task so selfishly and royally they would be unceremoniously kicked out so someone who really wanted the position could have it. Lauren got told not to do it again. That was it.
Lauren surprisingly is the least annoying of the two. Go figure.
I may have to continue watching the series simply because I'm a bit of a masochist, although I think it may be too much for my boyfriend. They may have made me angry, but they actually made him homicidal. So, fun for all the family then?
