Katie and Peter: The car crash

Jordan and Peter's life by reality TV continues with a chat show that makes their singing look Grammy award winning...

Karen Dunn TV blog

Oh sweet lord. I've just sat down and watched Peter and Jordan's chat show and I actually think a small piece of my brain has melted in the process.

I want to hate Peter and Jordan, really I do, but through the magic of reality TV I usually finding myself actually liking them.

First off Peter Andre really does give it his best shot, but he's still a touch slow. It's like watching a playful puppy running head long into patio doors. Repeatedly. You feel a bit sorry for it, but you're still aware that it’s never going to win Crufts.

His impressions of American stars were so painful it was only made worse when his guest Jack P Shepherd correctly guessed he was doing an impression of Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver only for Peter to announce that he was wrong because it was actually Robert di Nero. Travis Bickle is the character Robert plays, Peter.

Meanwhile, Katie opens the show by trying to claim that she doesn't have a problem with Victoria Beckham, which is a bit like me saying I don't have a problem with Jodie Marsh.

Matt Willis and Emma Griffiths saved my sanity for a bit, but then Peter managed to make Richard Madley look like Jeremy Paxman with his inspired questioning of Nicole from The Pussycat Dolls. It’s always amusing to see an American star looking horrified at their agent’s incompetence for booking them on a show like this.

Worse still were the interludes ripped off from TFI Friday ten years ago [eg: Simply The Breast where the pair had to choose who's boobs were real and whose were fake].

I personally object to my boyfriend declaring that watching it was like: 'being dragged face first through broken glass.' Well, it wasn't as bad as Anthony Cotton's show at least [although I may take this comment back if they decide to sing].
