Last weekend was all about crimped hair, neon accessories and acid wash denim. The scary thing is I was able to get all those bits on the high street in 2009.
I danced the night away in my Miss Selfridge acid wash ra-ra dress (from last summer) and neon New Look accessories.
When piecing my outfit together I found myself actually taking tips from the likes of Lady Gaga with her lilac nails and the spring/ summer catwalks for the crimped hair.
I used the Babyliss 2165U Pro Crimper (£15.00) to achieve the 80s crinkle effect.
I firstly blow-dried my hair straight the night before so it wasn’t fluffy and fly away. On the night I roughly grabbed sections of my hair and crimped away.
If I were to crimp my hair for a normal night out, which I am considering doing- I think I would just crimp a few sections to get a wicked volume and texture.
I will add that I was glad to be back in the noughties on Sunday morning, minus the frizzy hair and purple eyeshadow smeared on my pillow!
