My top style tip of the day

Alexa Chung at the Luella Spring/ Summer 2009 fashion show

Today I slept in, which wouldn't have been a problem if had planned my outfit the night before! However, I hadn’t planned my outfit, which could result in me being late for my Tuesday morning meeting.

I felt I had absolutely nothing to wear. Raking through item after item, I was very conscious of the ticking clock.

With it only being a Tuesday and with only a cinema visit on my events list for tonight, I had no desire to dress up.

Then I had a style flash back, I loved what Alexa Chung had worn last week at the Luella S/S 2009 fashion show. I really liked what she had done with her skirt- she had belted a high-waisted skirt to create a paper bag effect!

Ok. That was a start I was just going to rip off her look.

I grabbed a black chiffon knee length skirt that sits on my hips and hitched it up so it was round my waist. To keep it in place I wrapped round my studded patent belt and tucked a loose white vest underneath. I finished off the look with black opaque tights and black ankle booties.

Done and done!
