On the day: Come-to-bed hair

So you’ve devoted the last seven days to my boot camp – or should that be booty camp? – to cheat your way to looking fabulous naked.

With a shrewdly stage-managed timetable of therapies and treatments, nothing has been left to chance. So when it’s showtime, you’d expect that no self-respecting Style Editor would face the music and dance without a carefully coiffed blow-dry, wouldn't you?

That’s where you’d be wrong!

I’m of the Cat Deeley school of primping that every girl should have the best haircut she can possibly afford and not spare the expense. “You can spend hundreds on pounds on a dress you could only wear once, but you wear your hair every day,” argues the transatlantic golden girl of primetime TV.

Headmasters’ Creative Director Zoe Irwin – who tends the tresses of Lisa Snowdon and Donna Air – makes my hair look so amazing all the time, I think it looks sexier left undone.

And I wouldn’t want anyone to think I’d tried to hard now, would I?!
