Having a Field day

Whoever said never meet your idols obviously hadn’t had the pleasure of Sex And The City super-stylist Patricia Field’s acquaintance

You may not instantly recognise her name, but if you’ve ever worn a Carrie Bradshaw inspired name-plate necklace, watched The Devil Wears Prada or seen an episode of Ugly Betty you’ll be familiar with her style.

Working for Now Star Style, I’ve been lucky enough to interview and work with most of my fashion heroes including Erin O’Connor, Twiggy and Vidal Sassoon, but with her shocking pink mane of hair, and native New York drawl, Patricia totally rocked the show.

Chain-smoking her way through our interview, she divulged the five fashion rules she lives by, and revealed why working with Sarah Jessica Parker on Sex And The City was just one big party.

The word ‘fabulous’ was invented to describe Patricia Field. For she was single-handedly bringing Carrie’s eclectic and much-copied mix and match style to the masses, showing style can be intelligent as well as inspirational, and for having no fear when it comes to fashion, Patricia Field, we salute you!
