I heart Beverley Knight!

I've loved Beverley Knight ever since back in the day, but when I heard her latest album Music City Soul - a heartbreaking homage to the gospel and soul sounds of the likes of Al Green, Sam Cooke and Aretha Franklin - I thought, 'Me and that girl have a lot to talk about!'

Luckily, I bumped into the undisputed queen of the UK R'n'B scene at Warehouse's autumn winter catwalk show last night, and we both despaired about not having a boyfriend.

The opening lines of Music City Soul's feisty first song, Every Time You See Me Smile go, 'I can't stand the taste of heartache/ Got to spit it out and start again.' You and me both, Bev! But if anyone can turn a broken heart into a work of art it's the mighty Miss Knight.

Having had more than my fair share of dating disasters myself, I know exactly where she's coming from. 'I can't be that hard to get along with?' she sighed. I told her that she's so fabulous no man could live up to her, but if even Beverley Knight can't find a fella, what hope is there for the rest of us?
